Welcome to the Home of Team 2404…Hang-Out

We are a ninth-Year FIRST FRCFor Inspiration & Recognition of Science and Technology – (First Robotics Competition) team from John Muir High School in Pasadena, California. Our team is officially participating as a FRC Team. As part of the FIRST Challenge, our team creates a robot each year to score points in regional competitions. But not every year is the game is the same, it is always something different and new every year with a totally different play.

What’s FIRST?

Robotics is a unique, fun, exciting and awesome activity. It is a “sport of the mind” that requires problem solving, innovation, creativity, safety and most importantly teamwork. Your skills might be in design, mechanics, programming, video gaming (precise robot control!), marketing, business, photography, web design, or animation. No matter what your skills, we can use you on our robotics team! Even if you know very little of what you are doing… Ask questions and either the students or the mentors that are around will help you figure out your skill.

ABOUT US

Our team officially participates as Team 2404. We are known for the TNT‘s (TEAM NEY TECHS). For the challenge every year we brainstorm, design, build, test, and refine a 100 to 120-pound robot. This way we can complete the challenges and be able to compete against other teams. We are assigned with an alliance that is a set of three FRC TEAMS that work together during a match to play that years game. Alliances are identified during the match by the color that has been assigned, either red or blue. The matches last in a series of 2 minutes and 15 seconds.

Robotics is completely run by us, the students. We have mentors that help us approach problems and work together effectively, but the robot is essentially completely student-designed and built. It is incredible that only with a minimal amount of students we can make a working robot that successfully completes tasks!
